The Studio.
When the Romanian-born sculptor Brancusi died in 1957 he bequeathed his art to France, where he had spent his working life, on condition it be shown only within the context of his studio. Taking the studio as a starting point, APEC artists offer some points for reflection upon the studio itself. An imaginative site, hotly contested, it is so much more than just a place to make work, offering an economy of exchange different from the prevailing system’s.
